When recent horticulture graduate Dr. Fenton Miller arrives in Stone Acres, California, he thinks his only concern is which job offer to accept after spending the holidays working at his cousin’s plant nursery. But after he rents a room from another shorter-than-average man, sous-chef John Barton, Fen falls in lust.

While he’s attracted to Fen, John’s got bigger concerns when two men from his past arrive in town and pressure him to return to San Francisco. Although John tries to stop Fen from getting involved, Fen realizes his lover is in trouble and is determined to protect him.

As the holidays get closer and Fen makes his own enemy, the joy of the season gets lost in the ill will around them. To ensure love triumphs, Fen and John must stand tall to show that short, dark, and handsome is a recipe for love.

That night I stood freezing at Barton’s door, admiring Blue Cottage. The snow drifts piled on the lawn made the house look greeting-card perfect. I searched for a doorbell. Instead, a lion-headed knocker snarled at me. I grinned. Every house needed an intimidating guardian, right?

A man who looked about my age and height opened the door and slipped out, shutting it behind him. I was curious to see inside, but I got that the guy wanted his privacy. No problem.

“Hi. I’m Fen.”

He looked me over, then turned to the left along the shoveled porch. As he walked, he played with the keyring, bouncing a key in his hand. Did I make him nervous? If so, was that a good thing?

“This way.”

Okay. I took a breath and followed his pert ass and brisk steps as we rounded the porch to a steep staircase. From my brief glance at his face, he seemed okay. I was still slightly put off by his brusque manner. But hey, I reminded myself, I was renting from him, not fucking him.

In silence I followed him up to a small porch and a solid-looking back door, which he opened after only a little fumbling.

I was greeted by the stuffy, closed-up odor of a place long left undisturbed.

“You’d be my first renter. It’s furnished, but I can store anything you don’t want.” He made quick eye contact with me. The words erupted from him like I made him uncomfortable or something. Maybe it was my piercing and the tattoo, or maybe the hair color. I tried a smile, but he blushed and turned away, gesturing to the rooms.

Even though the air inside was chilly, I looked around and fell even more in love than I had when I’d first seen the house. The 1940s era furniture and knickknacks turned what could have been sterile rooms into my kind of home. I exhaled, letting the ambience settle in my soul as I wandered through a country kitchen, tiny dining room, sitting room, two bedrooms, and a classic bathroom, ending eventually at a circular tower room. I fell even deeper in love along the way as I touched the scratched kitchen table, a velveteen-covered parlor settee, a solid-looking four-poster bed, and the needlepoint-cushioned window seat in the tower.

If I were Barton, I’d charge thousands a month for this place. I prayed he wasn’t me and was relieved when my prayers were answered.

“You want to keep the furniture?” He still didn’t look at me as he bent over the kitchen table to fill out the rental agreement. Who needed him staring? I could live with letting his voice pour over me and seeing his kissable lips.

“I can’t imagine living here without all of it.” Or maybe even you, I thought, eyeing his pert butt wiggling at me as he wrote.

He stopped, stood, and eyed me for a few seconds before bending and going back to writing. I hadn’t said that about his butt out loud, had I?

As I was daydreaming about his ass and the scarred table, he stopped writing, looked over the form, and finally twisted it toward me. “Sign here, initial here, and date it. Then I need your rent for the month.”

I was signing before he changed his mind. The rent was ridiculously cheap. “No deposit?” There had to be a catch, right?

“No.”

I glanced up. He was gazing down at the table, or maybe at my hands. Or my groin? I signed as fast as I could and wrote a check to John Barton, the name on the rental agreement. So he had a first name, and we had a deal.

I drove back to my cousin’s house whistling. Within an hour, and with Beth and Kate’s help, I was moved in. Having only clothes and electronics made the move a one-trip job. Then I went food shopping for breakfast stuff and frozen dinners. We all celebrated by eating a late dinner outside town at a diner called the Rock Bottom Cafe. Renting a place with a wonderful kitchen hadn’t automatically taught me to cook.

Even with an enigma for a landlord, my life was perfect.

Sometimes it’s the cop who needs to hit the floor…

As a homicide cop, every blood-soaked crime scene settled in my bones and snaked around my spine. There was only one way to exorcise the images from my soul …

Inside the club, I stopped to scan the room. He was here, Camden Snow. A Norse sex god in the guise of unpretentious youth. Only his ice-blue eyes gave evidence of the Dom who took whomever he wished, whatever way he wanted, with a look and a nod. Merciless.

Cam found me watching him and fixed me with his arctic gaze. This time, I didn’t walk away. He cocked an eyebrow. Well?

The last thing I needed was mercy.

I dropped to my knees.

A frank exploration of the D/s dynamic between two powerful men. Consensual. Adult. Intense.

Excerpt

Cam massaged Hunt’s ring, around and around, pressed in the center, went back to massage. “I’m going to prepare you because I’m going to shove my cock into you later, Hunter. And you really are tight. Rumor is you’re a virgin.”

With a few drops of oil, he lubricated the wooden butt plug. The teardrop-shaped top, shiny and very smooth, became almost too slippery to hold. Cam was going to fuck Hunter until he screamed, as was necessary, but he didn’t want to injure him when he did. The plug would serve to stretch him, as well as be a constant reminder of his helplessness.

Every strike across his ass would move the plug, massaging, stimulating, opening him. Cam’s dick jerked hard at the thought.

He spread Hunter’s cheeks. A low choking sound came from Hunter, but he submitted immediately when he felt the nose of the plug in the center of his hole and Cam spun the slick, cool surface against him.

He inserted it slowly, Hunt groaning a soft oh, God at the widest point. Pausing there, Cam turned the plug in place, rocking it slightly, knowing  this sub needed time to fully experience his degradation and powerlessness.

A series of small, muffled sounds testified to Hunt’s mortification and arousal, suffering and need. When Hunter quieted and his body went fully slack in surrender, Cam slipped the plug all the way in. Hunter’s sphincter contracted around the wide stem.

A muffled moan – Cam smiled knowing Hunter had just realized how open he would remain. Good. The sound, the squirm, the sight of the big man laid out before him – Cam’s fist closed around his own fiery cock and squeezed hard. But only for a moment. He was going to need all his energy, and the drive that came from frustration.

Uncurling his fingers from the handle that nestled between Hunter’s full round buttocks, Cam massaged and squeezed him over the plug handle. Satisfied Hunt would remain pliant, Cam picked up the oil.

It was time to break Hunter Dane.

Excerpts

Cam was quiet for a long time, tracing the shape of my pec with his finger. It made me feel restless. “Are you making an assumption?” he asked.

I shook my head. “I’m just stating the probabilities. I’ll know more after I talk to Chez and Sherrilynne later.” He wriggled around and I shifted uncomfortably. “You okay?”

He tilted his head back to get a better view of me. “The windows are tinted.”

“I – what?”

“The seats totally recline.”

“Cam,” I said. Sternly, I thought.

“You’re hard,” he said wriggling again. His eyes were big, the arctic blue giving way to black pupil.

He was being ridiculous. “That’s just physiology. I’m working.”

He reached for the lever and my seat went almost completely flat. “You’re at lunch.”

“I don’t have time,” I felt my voice tighten.

“Five minutes, tops,” he said. “It’ll just feel a lot longer.

Damn kid …

He braced himself against the door, took me under the arms and shoved the top of me onto the back seat.

I heard him lower my zipper and felt the rush of cold air against over my erection before I felt his hand.

“Cam – ”

He rose up over me, bracing himself on his hands on either side of the seat. He gave me a lopsided grin and a hard stare.

“You have something to say, sub?”

Sonuvabitch! My cock jerked and throbbed.

He lowered his lips to my ear, his warm breath heating the blood rushing to my gut. “You’re a slut at heart, you know.”

He slid down between my legs. Insinuating his fingers through the flap in my briefs, he freed me.

“Tell you what,” he said, eyes glinting. “If you lie very still and don’t make any noise, I’ll think about letting you come, this time.”

He was referring to last Friday, when he tortured me with his mouth just before I left the club and didn’t get me off. I had to finish myself in the car in the sub-basement of police headquarters. I couldn’t walk, otherwise.

“Put your hands behind your head so I can see your face. I love watching you suffer.” He smiled and touched my slit gently with a fingertip.

I swallowed my groan and complied. The action lifted and opened my leather jacket. He could see the Colt in the shoulder holster. He licked his lips.

“If you come before I tell you, if you come in my mouth, you will present yourself to me tonight for discipline. Do you understand?”

I felt precum gush. He slipped a thumb over my cockhead. Spreading it. Bastard. “Yes, Cam.”

He lowered his wet, hot mouth onto me. And then there were no cars in the drive-thru or pulling into parking spaces. No people or voices or murders to be solved. There was just Cam and the mystery of his tongue and lips and hands and teeth. His throat.

His eyes glittered with malicious delight, fixed on my pleading ones as his mouth and fingers worked me over. I watched him do it because he required me to. He watched me watching him because it excited him. In less than a minute, I was desperate for restraint. For a gag. For release.

And he was just getting started.

Cam looked out the window, leaving me to myself  while I drove us through the quiet dark of the Capitol Hill streets. I wondered why this killer wasn’t perfectly obvious to me. I wondered if it was impossible for me to see them, being so close that everything blurred at the edges and melded together.

“Did anyone ever tell you, you think too much?” Cam asked.

“Did anyone ever not?”

“Take the next alley,” he told me.

“What? Why?”

“You need to stop thinking.”

“Cam,” I put a warning in my voice. “There’s not much time-”

The bastard grabbed the wheel and cranked it hard right.

“Shit!”

“Steer!”

I lifted my foot off the gas, or tried to. He had his left hand on my thigh just above my knee, digging in, pressing down.

“Stop it, goddamn it!”

Pull into that parking lot.”

“Alright! Just let go, for Christ’s sake!”

He released me instantly and sat back. I managed to miss the light pole and the dumpster and slide into a parking space behind a converted Victorian housing psychologists’ offices. An appropriate place to stop when riding with a no limits lunatic.

The offices were dark, now, but the mosquito bulb over the back door and the security lights at the rear of the building illuminated the lot. And the car’s interior. Anyone walking by could see us. If they saw us in flagrante delicto, they’d call the cops.

Cam had gone too far. I shut off the engine but before I could turn and bust his ass, his fingers found my seat belt release and he launched himself up and over the console into my space, his big hands slid down my arms toward my wrists. I twisted sideways and we wrestled for control of my hands.

I was at a distinct disadvantage under the steering wheel. He bent me toward him and my head was on his thigh.

“Stop it, Cam! Not now, we are not playing!”

He fell back into his seat, taking me with him and manacled me with one hand. But we were sweaty from the struggle and I managed to break his grip, freeing my hands.

He didn’t try to regain them. He simply raised himself and laid his body over mine. My head pressed into his crotch, his weight forced me onto the hard lump of the console.

“You can always safeword you know,” he said. I heard the challenge. The taunting. He was having fun.

“Fuck you,” I grunted underneath him.

I’d never safe worded in my life. Not to “red,” anyway. “Yellow” a few times when I had a cramp or was on call and my cell went off with a dispatch tone.

Safewording might have been an option for me now, if his power and the idea of being at his mercy, of which he possessed none, hadn’t given me a blazing erection.

He’d been betting I wouldn’t go there—confident I wouldn’t safeword. He really was good at this.

I felt his hand at my belt in back. Handcuffs. A thrill of fear and excitement made me choke on air. I struggled again, just enough to feel my inability to stop him from doing exactly what he intended. Jesus, I was hard, weeping against my thigh, trapped by the elastic briefs.

My legs were twisted and caught under the steering wheel. His body locked my right arm against the seatback. He deftly handcuffed my left wrist and calmly found my right and ratcheted the other cuff around it.

This was not the infamous Dom of the club, calculatedly giving me what I needed. Not the sexual virtuoso of last night, expertly bringing me everything I never knew I wanted. Pleasures I never thought existed.

This was the sadist in his element. Loving what he did to me because of what it did for him.

Then, suddenly, I knew who the killer was.

An ancient burial urn, empty for millennia, is suddenly not so empty.

When Detective Lieutenant Hunter Dane probes the murder at Natural History Museum, it’s his own past that haunts him. To solve the complex case, Hunter needs the talents of Camden Snow, the brilliant, beautiful, “no limits” Dom who’d helped him unravel a very peculiar, and very personal, murder.

But Cam’s ready to kill Hunt, himself! Their high-intensity D/s relationship that began in a playroom, ended in an emergency room.

“If you want to be with me, you’ll have to do more make some big re-entry gesture,” Cam said. “That’s just more drama. You’ll have to work for this, Hunter.”

“All right. What work would that be?” Hunter asked, eager to perform any penance Cam gave him.

“You’re the champion puzzle-solver and ace detective. Unravel a mystery.”

Hunter’s brows pulled together. “What mystery?”

“Me.”

For adults who love some mystery with their men. A 70k police procedural with a liberal dose of M/M heat. The 2nd of the Hunter Dane Investigations. Matchstick Men, their 1st case, also available on Amazon. Their next case, Psychic Men, will be out in spring of 2018

Excerpts

The Mystery

“You are familiar with the Tamil burial jars case I’m hearing?” the judge asked as she led him into her chambers.

“Enough to know the case exists,” he said, putting his professional face on. Why would they need a homicide investigator for an international property dispute? “I should mention I’m acquainted with Doctor St Clair who was appointed head of the research team.”

“I see,” she said, taking her chair but not inviting him to sit. “Do I have to go over confidentiality? I was informed with you it wouldn’t be necessary.”

“It isn’t,” he said.

“Good.” She sat forward and clasped her hands on the desk. “Expert testimony the Court finds to be compelling establishes the impossibility of determining the geographic origin of the jars or when they were created and sealed without extensive testing. There will be a problem of international relations if I award the urns to the Denver museum and later testing reveals clearly that the plaintiff did have standing.”

Hunter nodded. The judge cocked a skeptical eyebrow at him. “You understand the issue?”

“It will look as if we must have known all along and used a technicality in the law to keep the jars here. I imagine they have more than scientific value?” he said.

A slow and very small smile appeared. “Have a seat,” she told him. He did.

“At my request, Doctor St Clare sent a doctoral fellow to take air samples from the jars to determine how long ago they were sealed. That was ten days ago. I received the results on Friday. So did the attorneys. After which, I issued a gag order.”

Hunter waited for her to get to the point.

“I’m curious, detective, what you would guess the tests showed?”

“At least one of the air samples had a much higher level of carbon dioxide than would be present when the jars were made. And traces of methane, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and nitrogen. Decomp gases.”

Her Honor nodded.

“There’s flesh rotting in one of those jars and it wasn’t put there a thousand years ago,” Hunter said.

The Men

Before Hunter could react, Cam bent him back over the hard arm of the chair and glared fiercely into his face.

“Do you know how much I want you, you son of a bitch? How much I want you naked in my bed with my cock so far up your ass you can taste my cum in your mouth?”

Cam pulled him up and shoved him at his chair. “I want to beat you with a fucking belt until you bleed.”

Hunt waited silently for Cam to make a choice. Life that included Hunter, or a future entirely without him.

“According to you,” Cam went on, “You don’t attach to anyone. Ever. But we spent a night together and we both attached and I don’t want to hear any bullshit about it.”

Cam waited, eyes bright with challenge in his wrath.

Hunter wisely kept all bullshit to himself.

The Desire

Cam was leaning back against the sink counter. I approached him slowly, reaching for his top shirt button. “I’m going to give you a sensuous bathing. A Dom I know gave me one, recently,” I teased lightly.

His hand closed over mine, gripping tightly. This close, he had to look up a little to meet my eyes. At an even six feet, he was a couple inches shorter than I was.

But where I was rangy, Cam was solid muscle, wide at the shoulders, deep in the chest. A solid, strong man who exuded power and danger. He made me feel like it was a struggle to stay on my feet. He made me long to let go.

“Why?” he asked.

“Because I never get to just touch you, the way you do me. Look at you as much as I want. Feel you,” I said. “I need you, tonight, Cam.”

“You’re a switch. You want to dominate me, Hunter?”

I put a hand out slowly and laid my palm on his chest. “I want to make us feel good, Cam. I do switch, but—not with you. How about maybe, for a little while, we both get stuck in neutral?”

He felt so good to me, warm and firm, his heart tripping under my palm. I watched my hand slide up his shirtfront until the tips of my fingers found the top of his clavicle. I followed it, to the center notch, and back to his shoulder. Back in to slide up his trapezius, my thumb in the hollow place, massaging lightly. He was warm. So warm. Hard and smooth. He was a revelation to me.

I used Doms for pain and humiliation, to strip me down to raw feelings. Until Cam. No one used Cam. I never knew men felt good like this.

“I want to touch you,” I said, hardly recognizing my own voice, hoarse and thick. He was breathing harder, his jeans’ front bulging. I couldn’t help it. I laid my hand over the warm fullness. My thumb along his thickening shaft, fingers over his balls, just holding him. My God, he feels good.

He didn’t say no.

About the Author

TYPOS ARE MY TRADEMEARK

I write mostly BDSM EROTICA because I love exploring the power dynamics in terms of the love relationships. The work is explicit. It’s always consensual. If you have triggers about certain kinds of practices, use discretion. I do not make kink lists for my titles.

I went to school interminably, it seemed like. I studied anthropology and paleontology and genetics and literature and theology and ancient Greek. I chased down bad guys, raised children, climbed mountains, played poker, searched for dinosaurs and have had a rather large number of lovers. (I’m not giving up any numbers because TMI) Through it all, I wrote.

No wonder I’m so tired.

*AUTHOR’S NOTE*

You can read all my books stand-alone. There’s plenty of information about what happened previously in Hunt and Cam’s story for you to easily follow their relationship arc. The mysteries are always complete within the stories.

BUT if you’re a romance lover, the relationship story is not a romance. It is a love story. But it’s also the story of two independent Alpha males: one gay and one bisexual, one Dom and one switch with a preference for BDSM. And they aren’t simple, take it from someone who shares headspace with them.

I love these guys. They surprise me and challenge me and break my heart, sometimes. They inspire me.

(Just some FYI for the new readers. Hi. Welcome.)

It was an early summer evening, the sun half set. I was making my way to the door with one of the club’s boozeless Bloody Marys to find a deck chair and keep an eye on whoever came up the stairs. Decide what I wanted after sunset.

The door opened before I could touch it. He paused, backlit by the setting sun. Golden. Glowing. Idealized male beauty wrapped in an invisible cloak of incredible power. He was so careless of it. He scanned me and grinned. As if the sight of me delighted him. No one grinned here. Not with genuine pleasure.

He passed close to me, still scanning. It was the kind of moment that called for locked gazes and hardening cocks. Instead, he happily looked me over like I was a pastry display and he was deciding which succulent treat to select.

Cam was fresh from deep powder and Olympic triumph. Exuding health and vitality and bonhomie and danger.

I wanted to give him everything, simply because he existed. And looked at me.

He reached out and put a hand on the side of my neck, his thumb skating lightly along my jawline and down, across my larynx. My insides turned to water.

Don’t pick me. Please.

His eyes narrowed a little as if he’d heard. His hand tightened – scarcely, definitely – and withdrew.

“Kneel for me when you’re ready,” he said. And was gone.

AUTHOR’S NOTE

Hi. Welcome.)

SERIES REVIEW TOUR ~ The WYVERNS by L.M. Somerton

8B7EA4A1-E4DA-40CE-9E59-C5EAECAE979A

What can you expect from The Wyverns series?

Well, plenty of action and an equivalent amount of kink! The Wyverns isn’t a typical motorcycle club and its members aren’t typical bikers. They do have plenty of attitude and a knack for getting into trouble. Their leader, Rogue Hellaby, is as fierce as the dragon adorning his back and has little patience for the brat he is ordered to kidnap. Orlando de la Pena proves to be almost as much of a challenge as the gunrunners and drug cartels that The Wyverns regularly butt heads with and that’s how the series begins – with kidnap and kink!
The book titles are all linked by the word ‘trap’ because the members of The Wyverns are all trapped by the past, which ties them to a life they reluctantly enjoy. Linking them all together is a mysterious character called Mr. Trap, who manipulates their vulnerabilities shamelessly. This mystery threads through the series and is resolved in the new book, Steel Trap.

Secrets don’t stay hidden forever.
Hatchet has a thing for the enigmatic Mr. Smith, Horatio Trap’s spokesman. He’d love to get his hands on the pretty man and show him how good it feels to take orders for once rather than hand them out. He’s had his eye on Smith for years and he’s running out of patience.
The Wyverns’ involvement in the drug trade is limited to stealing money from the cartels—they don’t want junk peddled on their turf. When Trap orders them to destroy a crack cocaine factory in Phoenix, they are happy to oblige. But Smith throws a spanner in the works by posing as a potential buyer, putting himself in mortal danger.
Hatchet and The Wyverns come up with a plan to fake Smith’s death, muscle in on the deal and convince the cartel to do business with them instead. But when Hatchet’s cover is blown he’s left to save a bunch of illegals, destroy the drugs and wipe the factory from the face of the planet. It’s all in a night’s work for The Wyverns—but there are still secrets to uncover and the mysterious Horatio Trap and his mind games can’t stay hidden forever.

“We need a new fucking couch,” Hatchet grumbled. “My spine is turning into a pretzel.” He threw off the thin blanket covering him then swung his legs around so he could sit up. The scent of fresh coffee tickled his nostrils.
“So sleep in a bed like the rest of us,” Orlando said, far too bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for first thing in the morning. He stood next to the couch wafting a mug back and forth. His lime green top hurt Hatchet’s eyes.
“Gimme that coffee, brat.” Hatchet made a swipe for the mug but Orlando stepped away out of reach.
“Nope. This is for Smith. He deserves it more than you do.”
“He’s the reason I need a chiropractor on call.” Hatchet rubbed the sleep from his eyes. “Fuck, I need a shower.” He’d slept in an old T-shirt and sweats.
Orlando’s delicate button nose wrinkled. “I could hose you down outside if you like?”
Hatchet levered himself erect. At his full height, he towered over Orlando. “The only scenario I’d enjoy involving you, me and a hose would have the nozzle invading a certain part of your anatomy.”
Orlando’s eyes widened. His lower lip quivered. He thrust the mug of coffee in Hatchet’s direction.
“You think I’m falling for that hurt puppy routine?” Hatchet grabbed the mug before Orlando could change his mind. He took a long swallow. “This was for me all along, wasn’t it?”
Orlando grinned. “I gave Smith his ages ago. You were still snoring. Like a water buffalo.” He scampered toward the kitchen before Hatchet could react. He’d need at least one more mug before he felt up to chasing after Rogue’s obnoxious sub. The coffee was good though.
“The brat giving you trouble?” Rogue, leader of The Wyverns motorcycle club, strolled over.
“Always.” Hatchet raised his mug in a mock-toast. “Makes good coffee, though, so providing you keep warming his ass on a regular basis, I can handle him.”
Rogue ran a hand through his dirty blond hair. “Well, you could be in for a few rough days. I’m thinking about heading out to California. A road trip, then a few days on the beach. I want to see if I can still stand on a surfboard without wiping out.”
Hatchet’s eyes narrowed. “Wait. You’re leaving him here?”
Rogue shrugged. “I told him we were both going, but he said he had to stay here and take care of Smith since you were doing… What were his words? Oh, yeah. A piss poor job of it.”
“He said what?” Rogue had better find himself a new plaything. By the time Hatchet finished burying the brat, they’d never find hide nor hair.
“I’m kidding. Yeah, we’re leaving later today. You okay to handle things here while I’m gone?”
“You know it. As long as you’re taking the brat with you. And, yeah, I almost had a heart attack when you suggested you weren’t.”
Rogue chuckled. “I’m going to let him know now. Smith’s leaving today, right?”
“So he says.” Hatchet shrugged. “Shelton thinks he should rest up a few more days but that man is stubborn as a mule.”
“At least you get your bed back.”
“There is that.” Hatchet stretched, easing the kinks from his muscles. He’d rather Smith remained in his bed, preferably naked, possibly tied down, but he wasn’t going to admit that to Rogue. From his grin, Rogue knew what he was thinking, anyway.

MANTRAP #1

mantrap_exlarge_PNG-180x288

Not all cages have bars.

The Wyverns Motorcycle Club has a reputation as fierce as its dragon emblem. Its enigmatic leader, Rogue Hellaby, has a police file so thick you could prop up a table with it. The qualifications for membership are a reckless disregard for authority and the attitude of a spitting cobra. But The Wyverns MC is not quite what it seems. All the riders have dubious histories in the military or the police—now they just serve and protect their own interests and those of Horatio Trap, the manipulative bastard who recruited them.

When Rogue receives an instruction to kidnap and hold hostage the son of a powerful drug lord, he doesn’t bat an eyelid. But Rogue has never had to deal with a captive like Orlando de la Pena. Orlando is furious—not because he’s being held prisoner, but because he’s prevented from partying at his favorite BDSM club. Rogue discovers that the only way to deal with Orlando is to become the Dom he so obviously needs. But Orlando’s father wants him back, and The Wyverns must face a battle that could cost them their lives.

DEATHTRAP #2

deathtrap_pride_exlarge_PNG-180x288

A man without scars never had to fight for something he believed in.

A new relationship takes time and effort. A new relationship with Orlando de la Pena takes a whole lot more. As a Dom, Rogue knows what he wants, but Orlando refuses to fit neatly into the box labeled ‘submissive’. He’s feisty, demanding and far too pretty for his own good.

Orlando loves Rogue and he’s learning to love The Wyverns, but he hates being stuck out in the desert. Finding a niche in the world of bikes and fierce warriors is difficult, and Orlando’s impatience gets the better of him. He walks out into the desert and runs in to an antisocial diamondback.

Rogue has more than one problem to deal with. The Longhorns MC issues a challenge for territory. The Bellazi cartel is out for Wyvern blood. The Wyverns are under siege, and Rogue has to work out how to save not just Orlando, but all of them.

Reader Advisory: This books contains scenes of mild BDSM

RATTRAP #3

rattrap_exlarge_PNG-148x237

Sometimes the only way to spring a trap is to use live bait.

Teddy Austin has had more than his share of run-ins with local law enforcement. The Wyverns have a reputation to maintain, and Teddy feels it’s his duty to cause havoc whenever possible. Of course, getting arrested means time in the company of Sheriff Adrian Hayder—always a bonus—though Teddy would far prefer to have the sheriff wearing the cuffs.

When The Knights of War MC arrives in Phoenix, Trap orders The Wyverns to get inside information. In order to infiltrate the gang, Teddy must appear to betray his friends and switch his allegiance. Working undercover, however, he confirms what they have all suspected—The Knights of War are a cover for something much more sinister than a hell-raising bunch of bikers, and they fully intend to turn Phoenix into a battleground.
With Sheriff Hayder getting far too close to the truth, Teddy is left with a few problems—how to stop a war, keep his balls intact and ensure the man he loves keeps breathing

SAND TRAP #4

sandtrap_9781786515452_xlrg-148x237

Exposing secrets can be lethal.

Crow has had his eye on baby-faced Shelton since the young man became part of the Wyverns, but Crow is a committed Dom and unsure that Shelton is ready, or willing, to become his submissive. Getting trapped together during a dust storm provides an opportunity to find out.

When the dust settles, the winds have scoured the desert and uncovered a shallow grave full of bodies. Smuggling people across the border is big business and Crow knows that the traffickers will not want their gruesome secret revealed to the authorities.

When Shelton is taken and used as collateral, Crow and the Wyverns have to decide just how far they are prepared to go to serve justice and save Shelton’s life.

Blurb

Falling for his deceased twin brother’s mate was never part of Dustin’s plan.

This midwestern Alpha might be a little rough around the edges, but he lives by a few simple principles and honor is chief among them.

Nonetheless, when tragedy strikes the Meadowlands Pack, Dustin feels he has no choice but to bring his twin’s mate home to take care of him. The only problem is, Caleb isn’t anything like Dustin expected of the city omega who stole his brother’s heart and divided their family.

What starts out as trying to do the right thing soon becomes a blurry series of complicated decisions that lead Dustin further away from the path he’s always followed—and further into the arms of the one omega he was never supposed to want.

Caleb has been through the worst a mated omega could fear. He’s lost his mate and their unborn child, and now he finds himself at the mercy of an Alpha who has every reason to hate him.

Despite being twins, Dustin and Caleb’s former mate, Alec, are nothing alike. Caleb wants nothing more than to please his new Alpha and secure his position in the pack, but Dustin seems to take everything he says the wrong way.

As forbidden tensions mount between Alpha and omega, Caleb begins to fear that Dustin will start taking his developing interest the right way.

When Dustin finally made it home, he got two steps through the door before he caught the scent of something heavenly. He followed it to the kitchen to find Caleb cooking dinner alone. Usually when Dustin came home, Caleb and Ariel were talking while they folded laundry or in the kitchen cooking together. The omegas his pack had taken in were now inseparable friends, as he’d hoped.

On the one hand, Dustin was relieved that Caleb finally had company. On the other, he sorely missed being alone with the omega, as bad of an idea as it was to indulge. When Caleb turned around and noticed him, he realized he needed to do something besides gawk like a complete weirdo.

“Hi,” Caleb said softly.

“Hi.” Dustin cleared his throat. “Making dinner? Whatever it is smells great.”

“It’ll be ready soon,” Caleb said sheepishly. Dustin noticed for the first time that the table was set for two. “Your mom went out with friends and Zander took Ariel to a doctor’s appointment, so it’s just us. I hope that’s okay.”

Of course it was okay. It was better than okay, but Dustin wasn’t about to risk saying that out loud. “Sure,” he said, taking the heavy serving dish out of Caleb’s hands to place it on the table. “Can I help?”

“I’m all set, but thanks. I just need to get the bread out of the oven,” he said, pulling on his oven mitts.

Dustin didn’t look away quite soon enough when the omega bent over to pull the freshly baked bread out of the oven. He pulled out Caleb’s chair before sitting down and taking a sip of his wine. He wasn’t usually much of a drinker, aside from a beer or two when he was out with friends, but this was a special occasion.

“So,” he began, “how’s Ariel settling in?”

“As well as she can, all things considered. She misses her mate and the city, but she really likes the pack,” Caleb replied. “And it’s nice to have company.”

“Sorry I haven’t been around much,” said Dustin, feeling even guiltier. It wasn’t Caleb’s fault the Alpha was a terrible person and couldn’t keep his thoughts from drifting when he was around his own deceased brother’s mate.

“You’re an Alpha. I assume being busy is part of the job description,” Caleb said with a smile that made Dustin’s heart beat like a hummingbird’s wings.

“Yeah,” he said with a stiff laugh. At this rate, if he couldn’t overcome his obsession with Caleb, maybe his awkwardness would at least turn the omega off of him forever. “That’s true.”

“So, have you heard anything from Futurus?”

“A rep called today, actually. I told them they can take it up with Ariel’s lawyer,” he muttered, taking a bite of the steak dinner Caleb had prepared. It was incredible, but that was no surprise. Everything the omega did was perfect.

“She has one?” Caleb asked, blinking.

“Well, no. But I’m hoping by the time Elan comes back, I can convince him to take her case before Futurus calls my bluff.”

Caleb shook his head. “You’re really something, you know that?”

“You disapprove of my methods?” Dustin teased.

“Not at all. It’s just impressive, that’s all. How you’re willing to go to bat for someone you barely even know. Then there’s everything you’ve done for me.”

“I haven’t really done anything. I’m the one who’s benefitted from you being around here.”

“That’s sweet of you to say,” Caleb murmured. His cheeks flushed, and the sight made Dustin want things he had no business even thinking about. Namely, he wanted to give the omega even more reason to blush.

“I’m not just saying it. It’s true. Ever since you came here, the house feels different. Lighter.” He took another bite and swallowed without chewing, just to give himself an excuse to think before he said too much. “I’m glad you’re here, is what I’m trying to say.”

For a moment, Caleb fell silent. Dustin looked up and found the omega watching him. He told himself he was reading into things, that the look he found in Caleb’s eyes just couldn’t be what his heart wanted to believe it was. Wanting the same need, the same desire he felt to be there in Caleb’s gaze was so incredibly wrong, and yet…

Before either of them could say a word, Dustin realized what was happening. It was the subtle chemical shift he’d only ever felt a few times in his life, before he’d gained the control required to shut it off. It was like a switch in his mind had flipped. The typical response of an Alpha to an omega in heat.

Of course, Dustin had known it was coming. Caleb was no longer mated, or at least, not in any way nature felt compelled to recognize. When an unmated Alpha and omega were sharing such close quarters, it was inevitable. It was the main reason Dustin had been so careful about keeping his distance, but the fact that it had happened so soon was proof he didn’t want to want that Caleb at least somewhat returned his feelings.

“I…” The omega’s breath caught in his throat. He stood from the table suddenly, his hands trembling. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know this would happen so soon —“

Dustin only realized when the omega’s panicked apology cut off abruptly that he’d taken Caleb’s hand in a poorly thought out attempt to comfort him. “You don’t have anything to apologize for,” he said, pulling his hand back to his side. “I’ll go.”

“No. Don’t be silly, it’s your house.”

“Are you sure?” he asked warily. The idea of staying in the same house, knowing Caleb was in heat and having to constantly remind his wolf that there wasn’t a damn thing he could do to ease it seemed intolerable, but less so than the idea of leaving the omega alone. He knew his pack was safe, and if he’d had an inkling that there was a single Alpha within its borders who wasn’t safe to leave around an omega in heat, they would have been out on their ass a long time ago, but his possessive instincts had already kicked in full force.

“I’m sure,” said Caleb, his gaze lowering slowly. Dustin followed it to where the omega’s hand had come to rest on his chest, his touch so hot it felt like a hole was about to burn through his shirt. Heat was more than just figurative.

The omega seemed to realize what he was doing at the same moment and jerked his hand back. “I—I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be. Please.” Dustin’s voice came out husky as he tried to keep his gaze in check. God, the omega was beautiful. He always was, but it was impossible for Dustin to look away from him now. “Is there anything I can do?”

The way Caleb’s eyes widened made him realize how that must have sounded. There was plenty he wanted to do, but he’d never disrespect Caleb by offering it.

“That’s really not what I meant,” he said apologetically. “I just want you to be comfortable, so if there’s anything I can get you…”

Caleb shook his head slowly. His face was flushed, but it was hard to tell if that was from the embarrassment or the heat. Maybe both. “That’s sweet, but…” He trailed off and his Adam’s apple bobbed. “Would you stay? I just don’t want to be alone.”

Dustin had never wanted to accept an offer that badly, but his last shred of decency held him back. “I want to. I just don’t know if that’s the best idea.”

“No,” Caleb agreed, biting his lip as he looked away. His neck was exposed for the first time and Dustin felt the knife twist in deeper when he realized Alec’s mark had faded completely. “No, it probably isn’t.”

“Maybe we could just…watch something,” Dustin offered, grasping desperately for any idea that would allow him to stay and comfort Caleb without screwing everything up.

“That sounds good,” Caleb said eagerly.

Dustin wound up sitting on the other side of the sofa while Caleb surfed the channels. The Alpha found himself hoping that he wouldn’t pick anything romantic, but on some level, he knew that it wouldn’t matter. They could be watching a monster truck derby and he still would have found the omega as irresistible as he always did.

For a few minutes, the tactic of distraction seemed to be working. Then Dustin noticed Caleb tugging at the sleeves of his sweater. The omega finally pulled it over his head, even though the living room was far from too warm. Dustin couldn’t take his eyes off Caleb’s neck. His skin was so smooth, so deliciously flushed with need. No matter how he tried, Dustin just couldn’t erase the image of his teeth sinking into that bare flesh…

As if to save Dustin from himself, Caleb’s hand came up to rub his own shoulder. He shifted uncomfortably, like his back hurt, and in spite of himself, Dustin offered, “You want me to give you a massage?”

Caleb looked up under those dark lashes of his. Dustin was sure he’d crossed the line. Hell, he wouldn’t have blamed Caleb for slapping him. Instead, the omega nodded.

Dustin hadn’t been prepared for Caleb to take him up on his offer, even though he’d made it in all sincerity. He moved a bit closer, and the moment his hands made contact with Caleb’s skin, he knew he’d bitten off more than he could chew. He tried desperately to focus on the nonsensical plot of the movie, but the more he touched Caleb and the more he felt the omega’s tight muscles relax under his attention, the harder it was to think at all.

After all, some things didn’t require a whole lot of brain power. Instinct was more than enough. It was reining in those instincts that posed the real challenge.

The soft moan that passed Caleb’s lips was the thing that caved Dustin in all at once. The omega arched his back and leaned into Dustin’s touch, their pheromones mingling together in perfect harmony, as if their bodies had already decided how the night was going to go.

“That feels so good,” Caleb breathed.

“Good,” Dustin growled. He hoped Caleb would assume he was just hoarse and not angry, but knowing the Alpha’s voice was just rough with desire was probably even worse. “You’re tense.”

Caleb froze and looked over his shoulder. His eyes were dark and heavy with lust, and if there was any doubt in Dustin’s mind that the attraction he felt was a two-way street, it was gone now. Caleb turned slowly, and before Dustin could fully process what he was doing, the omega had slipped his arms around Dustin’s neck. His fingertips grazed Dustin’s skin, raising goosebumps all over his flesh.

“I know this is wrong,” Caleb said, his voice soft and husky but full of guilt. He wouldn’t meet Dustin’s eyes, which was just as well. The Alpha knew once he did, all bets were off. He wouldn’t be able to keep the truth inside any longer. “But I — I’m just so tired of feeling alone,” he whispered, tears slipping down his cheeks.

“You’re not alone,” Dustin assured him, stroking Caleb’s cheek. “I know I haven’t been there for you the way I should have. I’m just so afraid of making a mistake. Of giving in to the way I feel about you, and leading us into something we’ll both regret.”

“How do you feel?” Caleb asked, finally meeting his eyes. His gaze was searching, needful.

Dustin swallowed hard. “I think you know by this point. I’m pretty bad at hiding it, but God knows I’ve tried.”

Caleb gave him a small, rueful smile. “Maybe I’ve just been afraid to see it. Afraid that you’ll realize I feel the same way.”

“You don’t,” Dustin said, coming to himself for a split second. He hoped it was enough. “You’re in heat.”

Caleb laughed. It was a soft, regretful sound. “I wish I could blame it on that. Maybe then I could sleep at night without feeling like such a horrible person.”

“You’re not a horrible person.” Dustin’s thumb swept across Caleb’s lips. They were so soft. How had he gone this long without kissing them? Without touching him…? “You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met.”

The omega’s lips found his. This was it. This was the point of no return. If he crossed that line, if he returned the kiss, it was all over. He could no longer lay even a technical claim to goodness if he tasted the forbidden fruit and took more off the vine, but he had never felt quite as weak—or as strong—as he did with the omega in his arms.

In the end, the satin sin of Caleb’s lips brushing against his own was just too much. Dustin took the omega into his arms and his tongue slipped in past Caleb’s parted lips, taking the reins of control the way he’d always wanted. In all his wildest dreams—and Caleb had been the subject of plenty—he had never imagined giving in to temptation could taste so sweet.
