Blurb

The Age of Man has passed, and a new age is upon the Earth. An age of magic and technology ruled by the supernatural beings that once hid amongst humanity has begun.

Talos – Vampyr King, Supernatural Council Member, and Despiser of Humans. Fate has a surprise up their sleeve for him.

Bayne – Raised by the human resistance, Would-be Assassin, and Despiser of Supernatural Beings. He’s ready to sacrifice himself to kill his enemy.

Bayne is thrust into a world he thinks he knows but quickly discovers his whole life has been built on lies. Talos, perfectly happy ruling his corner of the world, is faced with an unexpected and unwelcome change that comes with the mate chosen by Fate. Together they must discover how to live and, in the end, love one another. But will Fate have more in store for them than just learning to love the species they hate?

Bloodlines of Fate is a new urban fantasy series set in a world destroyed by humans and resurrected by supernatural beings. Fate has many plans for the vampires, fae, unicorns, therianthropes, and humans of this new world. While their mates may be fated, learning to love isn’t that easy.

This book contains depictions of gladiatorial combat, snarky fem twinks who will cut you, kings in stilettos, and awkward heats with a pinch of daddy kink.

Excerpt

Talos tapped the tip of his black oxford against the back of the prostrate human’s head while the point of the stiletto heel dug into the base of his skull. It would take only the slightest pressure to impale the pathetic, whining human. Talos scanned the human’s mind and determined that he had told all that he knew.

With a flick of his wrist, a guard appeared. Talos removed his foot and stepped over the human. The guard grabbed the human by the back of the shirt and yanked him to his feet then pushed him forward out of the office, leaving Talos with the news the human had brought.

The heels of his shoes clicked on the marble floor as he walked out onto the balcony overlooking his city. Holographic ads played across the night sky; the whirl of electric engines zoomed below as they crisscrossed between the towering buildings. Down and to the right, his colosseum in all its ancient and modern glory shown bright even amongst the numerous lights and flashes coming from the main strip that bisected the downtown area in front of his building.

He narrowed his eyes at the building as if he could see through its many layers down into the cells where this would-be assassin plotted his demise.

“Your fathers would be proud.”

The words broke Talos’ thoughts but didn’t startle him. Majid was his shadow and had been for over two thousand years. The Persian towered over him even in his heels. The gentle touch on his shoulder belied the strength Majid held in his lithe frame. Talos looked into the violet eyes of his best friend who now focused on the city before them as he had.

“One hundred and fifty years, Majid.” He gazed back at the city. “Some days I’m angry with my father for not leaving Japan when I told him to. But Papa was as determined as Father was to stay and hold our territory. We all underestimated the humans’ thirst for destruction.” His tone turned hard as the pain of losing almost his whole family washed over him. It was a familiar pain now, but one that hadn’t lessened in the last century and a half.

“We should have moved then but the council hadn’t believed. They were still too trapped in their conviction to stay hidden as they had for millennia. But look at the greatness we have created in less than fifty years. The world could have looked like this without the destruction the human vermin wrought against it.” Talos closed his eyes as the memories angered him.

He slammed the side of his fist on top of the concrete wall of the balcony. Cracks splintered down and across while bits dug into the meat of his palm. Talos shook his hand out and wiped the concrete crumbles off. He straightened his navy suit jacket and then the cuffs of the light blue shirt beneath. Majid squeezed his shoulder gently. “Primus was a legendary vampyr, and you are living up to his legacy. Your accomplishments are not anything to laugh about. He would be immensely proud at the hand you’ve had in shaping this world and leading the way to bring us out of the darkness and into the light.”

Talos took the comfort Majid offered as he prepared mentally for what was coming tonight.

“Sire.” Gideon’s rich Spanish baritone broke their reverie, and Talos turned toward the doorway. “I have the information you requested on the resistance operative.”

Talos nodded as he walked back inside. “Anything interesting?”

“No, the usual.” Gideon fell in step beside Talos as he continued through his mansion of a penthouse and to the elevator at the entrance.

“We’ll leave him where he’s at. He’s already set to be part of tonight’s entertainment. Let’s see how good of a show he will give us.” Talos smirked.

Excerpt

As they rounded a corner, Jax collided with a muscular guy in a smart suit. The hairs on the back of Hugo’s arms stood up as a pulse of electricity swept through him. He grabbed Jax’s arm, steadying him so he didn’t fall.

“We’ve got to go,” he hissed, tugging his lover’s arm.

Jax didn’t move. He was staring at the man in the suit, breathing harshly. The shopkeeper’s yells were getting closer, yet Hugo couldn’t resist glancing at the man they’d bumped into. He found himself noticing every tiny detail in a matter of seconds. The guy was gorgeous, with dark hair that had been cut into a short, neat style and grey eyes with a dark brown ring around the pupil. His cheekbones were sharp and pronounced, and he had a couple days’ worth of stubble. He smelt of rainy days and damp moss. Hugo’s stare tracked to the man’s neck, where he saw the rice grain-sized bump of a chip beneath his skin. He was a shifter. Judging by the man’s size and the way Jax was quivering, he had to be an alpha. Hugo felt like he was being pulled towards the man, which was a dangerous sensation, considering how close the shopkeeper’s shouts sounded.

“We’ve got to go,” Hugo insisted, tugging Jax harder. They couldn’t get caught.

“Go,” the alpha said.

His voice was deep and velvety, the kind of voice you could listen to all day and not get bored of. It was a voice Hugo could happily get wrapped up in. Damn, why was he thinking that way, and why was his skin tingling in the alpha’s presence?

He shook himself.

“Run,” the man told them in a commanding growl, stepping aside so he was no longer blocking the path.

Jax pushed him forward, and suddenly, they were running again. Hugo felt a sickening wrench in his stomach, which made him falter, but he quickly found his feet again. Nothing mattered but getting as far away from the shopkeeper as possible.

Excerpt

Chapter One

Flashing lights broke Liam out of his gloomy thoughts. The tow truck headed toward him, then did a U-turn and pulled in front of Liam’s car, backing up until it was close enough to hook up the Honda.

The truck driver got out and walked toward Liam, who reluctantly got out of the car. Even though he had called for assistance and it was clear the stranger was a legitimate responder, Liam couldn’t help feeling jittery, with his hands sweating, and heart thumping.

Those reactions doubled when he got a good look at the driver.

Oh, just shoot me now. Fuck my life. Why did he have to be so fine?

In the glare of the truck’s spotlights, Liam made out all the important details. The man had broad shoulders, strong arms, powerful legs, and a solid chest, standing a good five inches or more over Liam’s five-foot-seven frame. Liam had thought he might be saved if the driver was ugly as sin, but he was out of luck. His face was as utterly lickable as the rest of him.

“You called for a tow? Mr. Reynard?”

Liam nodded.

“I’m Russell Lowe—everyone calls me Russ. I own Lowe’s Auto Shop in Fox Hollow, and tonight I’m your personal tow truck driver,” he said with a broad smile and dimples. The man’s sharp cheekbones, full lips, and strong chin were highlighted by dark brown scruff. Liam’s gaze traveled upward, surprised at gray hair flecked with brown framing a face that couldn’t be older than thirty-five. Green eyes made Liam wonder what kind of shifter Russ might be.

He swallowed hard and might have blushed when he realized Russ seemed to be checking him out too. No matter how attractive his roadside savior might be, Liam’d had enough man trouble to last an eternity, and he sure didn’t need more in a new town.

“Yes, I’m Liam Reynard. Just Liam,” he said, wishing he could conjure up the natural charm that had always served him well in community theater performances. His fox could be quite dramatic. But now, on the run, scared for his life, and in the dark with a stranger in the middle of nowhere, he couldn’t muster his usual flair.

“The engine started making strange noises, and I pulled off. I didn’t want to break anything.” Liam cringed because heknew next to nothing about cars. Admitting that takes points off my “man score,” doesn’t it? Then again, so does being a sports-hating, gay fox shifter twink.

Well, at thirty, I’d thought my twink days were behind me. But when he compared his own shorter, lithe, dancer build to the solid man-mountain in front of him? Yeah, twink still fits.

“I’m glad you stopped the car without waiting for the car to stop you.” Russ finally shifted his attention away from Liam and focused on the Civic. “Let’s get the tow set up, and then you can ride in the cab with me to Fox Hollow.”

Love doesn’t always add up.

Blurb

Russell Bishop is a rising star at Vantage Marketing.

Stephen Parker is the company’s CFO.

A spilled cup of coffee gives them an opportunity to act on the mutual attraction they’ve both been trying to ignore. But attraction isn’t enough with an almost twenty-year age gap and clashing expectations about their relationship.

Fiercely independent, Russ isn’t sure he’s ready for long-term commitment and Stephen is afraid history is repeating itself.

Their relationship reaches a crossroads when the death of Stephen’s father forces them to visit his hometown in southern Georgia. Estranged from his family, Stephen must come to terms with his past and say goodbye to the father whose expectations he could never live up to. The small, conservative town provides its own challenges as Russ must find the strength to be the man Stephen desperately needs.

Excerpt

“Hopefully, I’m not keeping you from a hot date tonight or something.”

Stephen let out a small snort of amusement. “Russ, I can’t remember the last time I had a hot date. Frankly, it’s been months since I’ve had a date of any sort. And they were lukewarm at best. If you’re asking if I’m single, the answer is yes.”

Embarrassed, Russ cleared his throat. “I was curious.”

“Nothing wrong with curiosity.”

“I’m single too,” Russ said. He cringed internally. Jesus. He’d had game once. Okay, maybe not game because he’d never had time to really develop it, but he used to be at least slightly smooth. This … whatever this was, was truly pathetic.

But Stephen didn’t seem too put out by his awkwardness. “Haven’t met the right person or no time to date?”

“Maybe a little of both,” Russ admitted. “It can be hard to meet men when you’re working fifty, sixty hours a week.” There. He’d at least managed to work the fact that he was gay into the conversation without doing it in the most cringey way possible.

“Absolutely,” Stephen said. “Though, from what I hear, you’re doing very well at Vantage.”

Russ blinked. He had no idea Stephen had even known who he was, much less that he’d been paying attention to how he was doing. “I had no idea you’d noticed me at work.”

“Oh, I noticed.” Stephen gave him a slow smile. “You needn’t worry about proving your worth, if that’s why you’re working those kind of hours.”

“I like to be thorough,” Russ said.

“Thoroughness is good.”

Was it Russ’s imagination or was there a hint of heat in Stephen’s eyes now and a faint rasp to his voice? “I like to make sure I take my time and fully grasp a topic,” Russ countered. “Get a real grip on it.”

“Traits like that will certainly allow you to get far at whatever you choose to do.”

Including with you? Russ wondered. “I’m trying to get ahead.”

The corner of Stephen’s mouth curved up even further. “That much is clear.”

“Think I’ll succeed?”

“I suppose it depends on what you’re trying to succeed at.”

“You don’t know?”

“I try not to make any assumptions about anything until I’m sure.”

Goddamn it. They were talking in circles and getting nowhere. Maybe Russ needed to try a different approach.

“I appreciate all of your help today,” Russ said. “I seriously can’t thank you enough.”

Stephen looked away from the TV again and shook his head, glancing at Russ with a small smile. “It’s the least I could do. I feel responsible for what happened.”

Russ smiled back, Stephen’s earnestness relaxing him. “Let’s call it even then, I guess. Or we could be up all night with this.”

Stephen quirked an eyebrow up at him, eyes crinkling at the corners with amusement. Fuck, what a turn on. Why older men were such an attraction for him, Russ would never be sure, but he’d realized it in college. He’d had a brief fling with a professor named Jack Burns after the semester was over. It wasn’t the forbidden aspect of it—they’d both waited until after Russ was no longer his student—but he liked the age difference.

A man with a fit body, handsome face, graying hair, and a killer smile always got Russ going. Hell, his head and ankle ached and he was still thinking about what Stephen would be like in bed. And was he flirting? God, Russ hoped so. “Well, being up all night isn’t always a bad thing.”

Stephen’s lips turned up at the corners in amusement. “You don’t think so?”

Russ shrugged. “It depends on the reason, doesn’t it?”

“Yes, I suppose it does,” Stephen murmured. He shifted to face Russ. “I’m afraid all of the best reasons are off the table at the moment though, aren’t they?”

“Too bad.”

When a single kiss calls your sexuality into question,

there’s only one sure path to a reliable answer: further research.

Blurb

Patrick

I like to think I know myself outside and in. As a developmental psychologist, I’ve spent years exploring the true foundations of my identity. So, when losing a bet means kissing my best friend, Logan, I already know I’m going to hate every second of it. All the relevant questions regarding my sexuality were asked and answered years ago. The results were conclusive: despite the odd same-sex attraction, I dislike being touched by men.

That is, it seems, until Logan is the man doing the touching. The intense desire aroused by his kiss contradicts all my expectations and I have no idea how to integrate the new information. Thankfully, I know exactly how to uncover the truth about myself—once and for all.

Logan

I’ve put a lot of effort into keeping Patrick out of my fantasies and in the friend-zone. Our recent lip-lock may have unleashed my feelings for him temporarily, but I’ll get them back on their platonic track in no time. Falling for a friend, especially a sexually ambivalent friend, is a one-way ticket to heartache.

But, when the unforeseen impact of our kiss inspires Patrick to conduct an experiment into the extent of his bisexuality, I can’t resist volunteering to help. If any man is going to join Patrick on his journey of self-discovery, it’s sure as hell going to be me.

Excerpt

“I refuse to give up,” Patrick insists. “I came here to kiss a man and I’m not leaving until I do.”

Dropping my head back, I swear at the ceiling. “Fine, but you’ll have to find him yourself. I’m done.” It was a stupid bet anyway.

“I will.” He tugs at his bottom lip with two fingers as he leans on the table, eyes intent. “I just need someone more like…” The words trail off uncertainly. “Someone like…” His head swivels and those blue eyes widen as they lock with mine. “You.”

My eyebrows make a leap for the ceiling. “What?”

“I could kiss you.” His whole body turns towards me, catching up with the insanity of his brain. “Why not? You’re hot. Guys fall all over you, and if I had a guy-type it would totally be you—obviously.”

“Obviously?” I repeat. “How is that obvious?”

He tuts. “We don’t hang out all the time because you rub me the wrong way.”

I haven’t rubbed him in any way—right or wrong. Still, the words make my stomach drop, in direct counterpoint to my cock.

“I don’t kiss straight guys,” I tell him. “You’re more trouble than your tight little virgin arses are worth.” I’ve already learned that lesson, and I don’t need a repeat.

“I’m not some random straight guy. We’ve been friends forever.”

“It’s been a year, Patrick.”

“Yeah, but it feels like forever.” He licks his lips. “I would feel comfortable doing this with you.”

My jaw drops. “It’s nice to know the thought of kissing me makes you feel so… comfortable.” I make sure to emphasise the last word, exposing it as the flaming insult it is. “It’s still not happening.”

“But—”

“Nope.” I hold up a hand to cut him off.

Releasing a breath, he slumps forward over the table. “Fine. Don’t kiss me.”

The silence isn’t comfortable this time. Actually, it’s really fucking awkward.

“I’m gonna go get us another drink,” Patrick announces, straightening from his lean. “Then I’ll kiss the hell out of the first guy who says yes, and we can call it a night.”

He doesn’t look at me as he walks away. I sure do look at him though. From the top of his brunette head all the way down to his well-formed arse. It’s not a temptation I give in to often. I wouldn’t be doing it now if he hadn’t opened his bloody mouth.

The second he suggested the stupid bet I should have known it would end badly. I didn’t even bother trying to win the game of pool. Kissing a woman would have been no big deal. I’ve done it before, back when I was a kid and I wasn’t ready for the world to know my interests lay elsewhere. At least me losing the bet wouldn’t have ended in all this drama.

Gazing out at the sea of men, I wonder who Patrick will end up kissing. Probably some arsehole who’ll try to grope him or get his grind on before the kiss is done. The idea doesn’t sit well. If anybody is going to grope my friend, it bloody well should be me.

“Fuck it,” I mutter before taking off after him. If he kisses some wanker before I get my hands on him, I’m gonna be pissed.

Excerpt

From Chapter One

Liam pulled himself out of his thoughts and forced himself to pay attention to the road. There were no streetlights out here. Once the sun set, the darkness out here was really dark.

Liam knew if he could shift into his fox-self, he’d be able to see just fine. But so far, he hadn’t figured out how to drive a car as a fox, and while Dr. Jeffries told him that Fox Hollow was both shifter-aware and shifter-welcoming, Liam didn’t want to bet on the tolerance of the county mounties or the state cops.

Just keep driving. Once I’m in Fox Hollow, I’ll be safer. Not too much farther now.

Liam had stopped at an ATM for cash and to fill the gas tank before he left Ithaca. He’d loaded up on road food and plenty of coffee so he could drive straight through. That would still get him into Fox Hollow late, but Dr. Jeffries had assured him that no matter what time the call came, he would be over to give Liam the keys and help him get settled.

He passed a sign by the side of the road that read: Fox Hollow, 10 miles just when the engine started to rattle and clank. A mile or so later, the noise grew alarmingly worse. Cursing under his breath, Liam pulled off to the side. The state highway didn’t have a generous berm, but there hadn’t been many cars for the past half hour. He was unlikely to be sideswiped but equally unlikely to have a passer-by offer to help.

Then again, since he hadn’t gotten a good look at the Huntsman’s face, Liam wouldn’t have dared accept help from a random driver.

With a sigh, he grabbed his phone and dug in his wallet for his roadside assistance card, hoping that he wasn’t too far from civilization to get a tow that didn’t cost a fortune.

We’ll have someone out as quickly as possible,” the customer service operator assured him, remaining vexingly light on the details. “Stay where you are, remain in your vehicle to be safe, and we’ll send a tow truck.”

“Can they tow me to Fox Hollow? That’s where I’m headed. I don’t know if they have a place that can fix cars.”

“You’re in luck,” she replied. “They do. I’ll take care of that for you. Just sit tight.”

Liam tapped his thumbs on the steering wheel, feeling twitchy about waiting for a stranger, alone in the dark. While he had heard plenty of people talk about the gorgeous, rugged scenery of the Adirondacks, Liam had apparently skipped over the parts about how dark, empty, and vast the area could seem.

He debated, then discarded, the notion of shifting to his fox to get a sense for his surroundings. He didn’t know how quickly the tow truck might arrive, and while the area might tolerate shifters, confronting a hapless driver with a too-knowledgeable fox or a naked man who had just shifted back didn’t seem like it was the right way to make new friends.

Goodreads – Coulter and Woodard Series

Blurb

There was a time in Detective Eagle Woodard’s life that he would like to forget, but Eagle’s past catches up with him and it’s threatening to destroy everything and everyone he holds dear.

Dr. Adam Coulter is recovering from a cancer diagnosis and Adam and Eagle’s relationship is stronger than ever, but the continued disappearance of their son, Michael, overshadows their happiness. A new threat appears in the form of a man Detective Eagle Woodard thought dead. Sergeant Dean Kessler aka ‘The Viking’ is on a mission to destroy his old Black Ops team mate. Secrets held in silence by Eagle for over a decade come to the surface, threatening his relationship with Adam and with Eagle’s family.

Not only is The Viking after Eagle, but when Dean Kessler finds his younger brother is in Albuquerque, he becomes a target for his older brother’s revenge as well. Eagle wants to deal with Dean on his own, but the people who care for Eagle the most aren’t about to let him do this by himself.

The question is, will Eagle be able to keep the worst part of himself locked away or will he need ‘The Skinwalker’ to help him defeat ‘The Viking’?

Author’s Note: This book begins about six months after the end of Book 2 in the Coulter/Woodard series. This is the third planned book in the Coulter/Woodard series. No others are planned at this time, but who knows if the muse will strike. There are secondary characters who might need to have their stories told, but if they do, then the stories will be standalone novels.

PLEASE NOTE: This story contains some scenes of BDSM, drug abuse, and violent death. If these are triggers for you, this book may not be for you.

About the Author

My mother now regrets her fateful words she offered the day I came home from our small town library in Palm Springs, California (yes, I’m a Cali girl) complaining that there were no more books to read. “Then why don’t you write some.”

My father never saw his old Remington portable until I entered college and they gifted me an IBM Selectric. By then I had produced at least two dozen unpublishable novels which make me cringe when I read them today.

I found inspiration in innumerable odd jobs (from migrant work as a Date palm pollinator to the person who cleans the washing machines at the launderette to professional Dominatrix) for stories. After a stint in Rehab for Alcohol and Heroin abuse (so when I write those scenes, I know what I’m talking about), I cleaned up and have stayed that way for 29 years. (Me and Sir Elton, LOL). My gypsy lifestyle gave me a unique perspective on the different people who inhabited the Washington, Oregon, Arizona, California, and New Mexico areas where I have lived.

After 3 very bad marriages to men, I finally figured out what was wrong and fell in love with a woman when I lived in Portland, OR 23 years ago. We’ve been married since 2008 (yes it was legal in California at that time). We now live in Asheville, NC and love the people in this liberal and accepting corner of the mountains of North Carolina.

Can the sweetest sub at Delphic stretch himself enough to satisfy two Doms?

Blurb

BIRCH is the sweetest sub at Delphic, but can he stretch himself enough to satisfy two Doms? Will they share him or break him?

When a pair of demanding doms need the perfect submissive to share they place a contract with the Delphic Agency.

Their needs are very different; Ivo is the master of pushing limits whilst Griffin is gentle but intense.  Can one sub ever be enough to satisfy them and for how long?

Birch will always try his hardest, it’s in his nature, but how can he retain a professional distance when they each arouse such different passions in him and together, well together, they overwhelm him.

PAID TO BE SHARED is the third book in the Delphic Agency Series and contains Dom/Sub elements, plenty of steamy kink exploration and a sweet submissive with a huge heart.

Excerpt

Chapter One – Demanding Doms

Ivo

“Ideally, we want a sub that we both find attractive, but it’s the kinks that we are mainly interested in. Ivo is into medical play, and I’m more for bondage, sensation play, forced orgasms, that sort of thing. Naturally, we’ll both want to fuck him,” Griffin looked at Ivo, and Ivo nodded and said nothing.

It is better if Griffin spoke for them because his brain was organized to be best in this sort of situation; succinct, sensible, getting to the meat of the issue. The CEO briefing the room.

Ivo’s brain wasn’t like that, all Ivo wanted to say was, give me a boy that I can play with, give me a boy I can tether to my table and probe and slowly open and then sink into.

Griffin didn’t put his needs like that. He made bald statements without the hot details, but Ivo still got hard, his cock sluggishly filling against his thigh.

“I think it’s worth noting that we intend to play separately. If the contract is a success, then we don’t rule out scening together in the future, but that’s not a priority. Oh, and we neither of us like brats.” Griffin looked again at Ivo, checking in, and Ivo nodded again.

Dr. Gregory – he said they should call him Cash – peered at Ivo over his glasses, his moss-green eyes kind, a faint smile on his face. Ivo met his eyes across the cluttered desk and nodded again, “No, we don’t like brats,” he said. His voice sounded deeper, gruffer than he expected, “For this to work we need compliance. So we can have the scenes without drama, and then get back to being with each other.”

He felt Griffin tense beside him, his leg pressed against his own, hard, Wrong thing to say, made me sound inhuman, he thought, Should have stayed quiet.

Dr. Gregory looked at him quizzically.

“What Ivo means,” Griffin stepped smoothly into the faux pas, “Is that our relationship is the primary. The contract with Delphic is a sexual cherry on the top of the cake for us. We’re giving each other this as an anniversary present actually. I could have got him a new set of golf clubs; instead, I got us both a subscription to the Kink of the Month club!” he laughed, and Dr. Gregory smiled and made another note.

Everyone in the room knew that was a lie.

Ivo needed this, Griffin needed this, and their marriage needed this.

Ivo loved his husband, loved his heart and his drive, loved his skin and his cock and his panting breaths and his hot hands, and yet, he needed someone pliant and begging. He wanted big eyes that would well with tears and then flutter with bliss.  He needed, he needed – what Griffin couldn’t give.

He swallowed, he wasn’t alone in this, Griffin needed it too and now, finally, they earned enough, they were open and trusting enough with each other, they could have this.  He is sure they could have this.  They have to have this.

Griffin was speaking again, and Dr. Gregory was listening carefully, head tilted to one side. “We want to start with a longer-term contract, three months minimum,” Griffin was relaxed now, talking logistics, “Three days a week and every other weekend.  We’re happy for the sub to take on other contracts if they are feasible, but none that include an exchange of fluids because we both want to be able to come with him.  Weekly testing would still be mandatory, of course.”

Ivo found himself drifting again. They had tried it, meeting each other’s needs, of course they had, they loved each other. They had tried to switch, and it had been a disaster.  Ivo had taken it better. Griffin had dropped like a stone.  Ivo had gritted his teeth and endured.  Griffin hadn’t been able to look him in the face for days.

They were basically incompatible that way.

A contract with Delphic would solve everything, if it stayed neatly within the boundaries they built around it.  They were professional men, they could manage this.  God he hoped they could manage this.

“Married couples don’t do absolutely everything together,” Griffin had rationalised to Ivo when they got further than just hinting around the edges of the issue, “Nobody needs to witness anything, it will keep the mystique intact,”

And that sort of made sense to Ivo, although somehow he didn’t think that fucking a submissive fell into the same category of married life as toenail clipping and nasal hair trimming.  But he couldn’t deny either Griffin or himself because he could feel himself and his marriage fading to shades of grey for lack of it.

He swallowed at the fear that suddenly knotted his stomach.  He wasn’t used to fear, as a surgeon he was never fearful, but the thought of losing Griffin for lack of this scared the hell out of him.
